An active leader of the U.S. Asian and Pacific Islander
community, Rudy Pamintuan was appointed by President George W. Bush to
serve as Chairman of the President's Advisory Commission on Asian American
and Pacific Islanders. The Commission focused on economic and community
development while it addressed the various issues affecting the over
14 million Asian American and Pacific Islanders living throughout the
United States.
Rudy continues his leadership on behalf of the community
by serving as Chairman of the U.S. Asia Center (USAC) - a private, non-government
affiliated policy think tank based in Washington D.C. USAC provides the
most up-to-date research with a focus on Asia and the Asian American community.
The information is disseminated to policy makers, the media and constituent
leaders in order to spark educated debate. USAC also works with other organizations
focusing on domestic and international Asian policy to sponsor and co-facilitate
projects for the economic and political advancement of Asian Americans
and the strengthening of U.S.-Asia relations.
In addition, Rudy faithfully serves on the Advisory Board of the U.S. Asian Business Council, the Board of Directors for the National Center for Community Development and is an active member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
Rudy is dedicated to serving the needs of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community and continues direct involvement in a variety of individual projects and initiatives throughout the United States.
